The Children's Social Care (CSC) training team offers a range of training and development opportunities to staff, foster carers and volunteers.
Although some courses are available to a variety of staff, it is only possible to apply for the courses advertised within your role specific area. Please remember to discuss this with your line manager before applying for a course.

Core essentials for all practitioners
The SCIP Programme covers the key elements of the 'Common Core of Skills and Knowledge' as set out in 'Every Child Matters: Change for Children' (2004.) This training is the starting point for the Level 2 Certificate or 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce and is linked to the workforce area specific Induction StandardsFlexible and accessible, an easy way to learn.
