Somerset SCITT

Somerset SCITT is based at Taunton Academy South Site, Taunton with some training also taking place at The Blue School, Wells. SCITT offers Foundation Degrees in ICS (Integrated Children's Services); Teaching and Learning (both of which provide an opportunity to progress to the BA (Ed) top up year), PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate of Education) in Early Years and Primary with QTS and the GTP (Graduate Teacher Programme).

 

SCITT also run "Post Graduate Certificate" and "Post Graduate Diploma" courses within SCIL Leadership and Management Training, for more information on both courses please click here.

Foundation Degrees

Recruitment for our Foundation Degrees has already started with all cohorts starting in September. If you want to request an information pack please email SCITT@somerset.gov.uk.

Once you have obtained a pass in the Foundation Degree in a relevant subject, or 240 points including 120 at Level 5 you may then apply for the BA Hons in Education
BA (Hons) Degree in Education Top Up 

 

School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)  

The recruitment process for our teacher training routes starts mid September for the following year. These courses runs annually, following the academic year. For example if you wanted to start the course in September 2012, you would be able to apply from mid September 2011.
