Online via EMS
If you are a member of staff working in a Somerset school, you can access the EMS online site for schools at https://emsonline.somerset.gov.uk.
To book places on the course you will need to go through your school approved authoriser who will have the individual login and password for the school. If your school is unsure of their individual login you will need to contact South West One ICT at County Hall who will be able to reset this for you.
If you would like to view the help sheet for using EMS online from your school, please see below.
Some of our courses require payment in advance. If you are applying for one of these courses via EMS or in hard copy you must send in a cheque before your place can be confirmed. To do this applicants must:
Training Costs:
To support the Children and Young People's Workforce, SCIL endeavour to secure funding to reduce the cost of training to the learner. You will find we offer some courses fully funded, and other courses are greatly subsidised. The cost to the learner is shown on each course page, this is the cost you/your organisation will have to pay.
Fee paying courses: We appreciate that learners cancel course places reluctantly and only for unavoidable reasons. However, because we work within tight financial constraints, we have to impose a non refund policy if a course place is cancelled within 10 working days of the start date. We will however accept a substitute delegate if given 2 working days notice.
Fully funded courses: Courses that are fully funded also incur a 10 day cancellation/non-attendance fee of £50 for a full day course and £30 for a half day course. We will accept a substitute delegate if given 2 working days notice.
